Before venturing to Helsinki I sought out a few of their classic sayings to get a little insight into the Finnish psyche. Some are weird, some are heart-warming and some are down right wise. Here’s 30 of my favorite proverbs from the land of Finland:

Interesting wisdom but I don’t get the ‘missing antlers’ proverb. Perhaps you have to have bought a reindeer from a rich man to get it.

I think a lot of these are like jokes where you ‘have to be there’ to get it!
