I love how the city appears to grow up out of the rainforest. No matter where you are in Singapore you’re always close to lush green foliage and the busy sound of birds or insects. There’s a particular bug which can be heard all around which makes a sound like the theme tune to jaws. As you stroll along the suspended walkways you often hear the rhythmic chirping on a loop, starting slowly and softly at first before building into a louder and faster crescendo. Always with that famous du du du du du du rhythm. I never got to see what it was but could always hear it everywhere I went.
Have you been to Singapore? Did you hear it too? Any idea what it might be?
